Over the years, Columbia College has consistently been one of the top three providers of international students at the University of British Columbia. Columbia College also sends a large number of students to Simon Fraser University, another major university in Vancouver.
રાજ્યમાં આવેલી સ્કૂલોમાં શિક્ષકોની ખાલી જગ્યા ૫૨ જ્યાં સુધી કાયમી ભરતી કરવામાં ન આવે ત્યાં સુધી પ્રવાસી શિક્ષકો દ્વારા અભ્યાસ કરાવવામાં આવતો હતો. જોકે, તાજેતરમાં જ શિક્ષણ વિભાગ દ્વારા પ્રવાસી શિક્ષક યોજના રદ કરી તેના સ્થાને જ્ઞાન સહાયકની નિમણુંક કરવાની જાહેરાત કરવામાં આવી હતી. જ્ઞાન સહાયકની નિમણુંક માટે દ્વીસ્તરીય પરીક્ષાના આધારે પસંદગી કરવાનું નકકી કરાયું હતું અને તેના માટે રાજ્ય પરીક્ષા બોર્ડને પરીક્ષા લેવાની જવાબદારી સોંપવામાં આવી હતી. જેથી રાજ્ય પરીક્ષા બોર્ડ દ્વારા પ્રાથમિક અને માધ્યમિક માટે પરીક્ષાનું આયોજન કરી પરિણામ જાહેર કર્યું હતું. જેના આધારે જ્ઞાન સહાયકની ભરતીની કાર્યવાહી હાથ ધરવામાં આવી હતી.

દરમિયાન, ધોરણ-11 અને 12માં પણ જ્ઞાન સહાયક બનવા માટે રાજ્ય પરીક્ષા બોર્ડ દ્વારા દ્વીસ્તરીય પરીક્ષા લેવામાં આવી છે. આ માટે રાજ્ય પરીક્ષા બોર્ડ દ્વારા મેઈન્સની પરીક્ષા લેવામાં આવીછે, પરંતુ હજુ સુધી તેનું પરિણામ જાહેર કરાયું ન હોવાથી ઉચ્ચતર માધ્યમિકમાં જ્ઞાન સહાયકની ભરતી થઈ નથી. ધો.11 અને 12ના શિક્ષક માટેની અભિરૂચી કસોટીની પ્રિલિમ પરીક્ષા ગુજરાતી માધ્યમની 6 ઓગસ્ટના રોજ અને હિન્દી તથા અંગ્રેજી માધ્યમની 13 ઓગસ્ટના રોજ લેવામાં આવી હતી.
આ બંને પરીક્ષામાં કુલ 103867 ઉમેદવાર ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યાં હતા. રાજ્ય પરીક્ષા બોર્ડ દ્વારા લેવામાં આવેલી પ્રિલીમ પરીક્ષામાં 70 કે તેથી વધુ ગુણ પ્રાપ્ત કરનાર ઉમેદવારોને મેઈન્સ પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યાં હતા. મેઈન્સ માટે માટે સમગ્ર રાજ્યના 43933 ઉમેદવારો ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યાં હતા. આ પરીક્ષા રાજ્યના અમદાવાદ શહેર, અમદાવાદ ગ્રામ્ય, રાજકોટ, વડોદરા અને સુરતમાં લેવામાં આવી હતી. પરીક્ષા પુર્ણ થયા બાદ હજુ સુધી તેનું પરિણામ જાહેર કરાયું ન હોવાથી હવે રાજ્ય પરીક્ષા બોર્ડ દ્વારા પરિણામ જાહેર કરવાની કાર્યવાહી હાથ ધરવામાં આવી છે.

In late 2018, Columbia College officially announced their mascot to the community, a brown bear named Trevor! Trevor's journey began in early 2018, when students, staff and faculty debated which animal would best represent the college. Owls, bears and otters were the top picks. A local graphic designer drafted three animal designs, and students were sent a short survey asking them to vote on their favorite potential mascot. After a close vote between Bear and Owl, Trevor Bear emerged as the winner. The marketing and recruitment committee of the college has appointed Dr. Dr. who worked at the college for 40 years before retiring in August 2018. The name "Trevor" was chosen to recognize the legacy of Trevor Toon, former principal of Columbia College.
Brown bears are found throughout northern Eurasia and North America. About 150,000 bears live in British Columbia and are known to be strong, loving, empathetic, playful and social animals – characteristics that Columbia College represents! Look for Trevor the mascot on Columbia College social media, merchandise and student life activities on campus.
